departure~

it's kinda weird that i'm actually leaving today (SURREAL MUCH?). i'm nervous, but not as nervous as i should be, i think, considering that i'll be gone for a whole year and SO MUCH CAN HAPPEN while i'm not here.

i'm glad i got to see a lot of my friends and family. i'm glad i ate lots of crabs. i'm glad i worked fulltime (and became a lot closer with my coworkers) so i could have money to spend frivolously in tokyo on purikura and drinking. i'm glad i went to philly to help anika and karen move in. i'm glad i've overcome fears and gone skydiving, sailing, and motorcycling. i'm glad i bought cute new clothes. i'm glad i went to kansas. i'm glad i skyped with maddie and lydia lots.

aaaaaand yeah. peace out bitches (it's an RWJ joke mom, don't get all huffy). i'll update once i'm in tokyo <3

flying down roads and stuff

i just went for my first motorcycle ride with cj! HOLY SHIT THAT WAS COOL. like a rollercoaster, but a million times better and i didn't have to pay for it or stand in a line. bumpin'. the best part was feeling the wind on my (very squished into a small helmet so it gave me chipmunk cheeks lol) face and watching scenery reflect on cj's helmet~

also, i just remembered that i used to call ketchup "tata." that must've made for some awkward dinners with my family.

ah, i went sailing the other day with my family and the starks (minus anika). guess who got seasick like woah and couldn't even move to put on sunscreen, and so is now sporting a hideous sunburn? mhmm. but it was still a really gorgeous day. and i got lots of awesome pictures, which is all that really matters~ hahaha

oh yeah

BTWS 8 DAYS LEFT OH BOY. but japanese placement test for the suck. that thing crushed my soul into a billion pieces D:

3 weeks left!

I CAN ALMOST TASTE JAPAN. it might be the furikake and rice i'm eating, but who really knows.

just made strawberry shortcake as a going away cake for the salon, and spent about $150 on a winter coat (suitable for ski lodge too!), socks, tights, earrings, and lots of deodorant/toothpaste/eyeliner, etc. people tell me i'll be able to find it there, but um, it's gonna be hella expensive, so i'll just stock up in america.

in other news: SKYDIVING. falling out of a plane is the BEST THING EVER, but passing out and going face first into the ground because the parachute's harness was too tight and my blood circulation got cut off...yeah, not so much. at least i was awake for most of it, and got to see all the way out to the appalachian mountains~

also, i miss earlham like woah, and seeing all the pictures on facebook from my friends who are already back there just makes me more nostalgic <3

i want just one more saga dinner and movie night at japan house (brownies and possibly alcohol included) with my group of friends there :D

dear god

i'm pretty sure it's one of my worst nightmares to be petsitting and have a dying dog on my hands. welcome to the suck.
luckily i was able to call out of work to take stella to the vet (though i'm pretty sure i scared the hell out of otha when he got on the phone to me sobbing and having a huge breakdown), and they said she's okay medically, but that she's super old and her time has been coming for a while.

UGH = $200 vet bill that i felt obligated to pay because i'm a freak for flipping out like that and don't wanna make the owners pay a shit ton just because i had no idea what to do other than take stella to an emergency vet clinic.

i also dropped my laptop on top on my face last night. battle scar? yes.

thus, this is my depressed post of the day. needless to say, i drove to the gas station and bought myself 5 packs of candy/chips. shit.

SUCCESS

accomplishments:

- returning from kansas after eating a shit ton of gelato and spending well needed time with my graduated (OMG IN MORIOKA NOW) bff Lydia
- getting more tan at ocean city with lauren paish
- carrot cake cheesecake on a puth/starks family outing for mom's birthday
- blood drawn and doing okay (except a slightly high cholesterol)
- JAPAN VISA SECURED
- skyping with mah lover, maddie <3
- not crying when an evil shihtzu bit half my thumbnail off today
- great sleepover with just-returned-from-utah-doing-film-stuff sammi :D
- awesome 20th (NOW LEGAL IN JAPAN) birthday with my dad and karen at ichiban (monster rolls and nabeyaki udon), then rita's raspberry lemonade gelati at allen's pond

more summer fun

georgetown is the best. it had a billion cute things to buy (very expensive cute things, unfortunately) and karen, anika, and i had a blast just walking around admiring stuff. it's what girls do. my spoils included a new purple flower headband ($5), and best of all: THREE PAIRS OF EARRINGS FOR $2.29. that was epic~

we ate delicious french crepes, i tried a tuna sandwich for the first time in ages, and then we all sang horribly off-key disney songs during the ride home.

p.s.- skydiving. july. OMG.

MAKIN' BANK

my life has been entirely consumed by petsmart. i'm working 40 hrs or so a week, doing BBNE (bath, brush, nails, and ears), trims/grinds, and a shit ton of phone answering. you haven't heard my awesome secretary voice until you've heard me talk to a customer. unless they're being a bitch, in which case it's REALLY hard to be nice. anywho. made almost $30 in tips yesterday! that was pretty epic~

today i'll hopefully be going to georgetown with anika and karen. spending timeeeeee :D

i am such a homebody. it's ridiculous how much i enjoy just sitting around the house, scrapbooking, drinking chocolate milk and listening to rain and country music.

though shopping with friends is always awesome too~

but boo on returning to petsmart in two days for the 7 am shift. balls.

what up, it is so nice being home.
until next wednesday (the start of summer job ugh), i can scrapbook, watch tv/movies, chill with friends, read books that i actually WANT to read, and listen to music turned up as loud as i want.
not having to worry about roomies seeing me naked is the ultimate luxury~ besides home-cooked food of course :]

i'll be going to dayton with friends tonight to get some japanese/korean food, and it's gonna be awesomeeeee. it's not our whole group (katie is broke, and since when do gus and spencer ever go? bastards. ww), but it'll be fun never the less.

OOH. clubbing at masque last friday night was epic. chance, asuka, jun, victoria, shaina, rosa, lydia, abbe and i were working it (although i ended up changing half my outfit...buying high-ass heels that hurt the second you put them on but are still super cute do NOT work for dancing)~

this is me: procrastinating on my social context essay while getting a head start on the blog that i said i'd write while in japan.

currently in lilly library's 24 hr lab, wishing i was watching lovely complex, or at least my daily drama (boys over flowers - korean version FTW) with maddie.

my haul at this year's (rained out so in the gym instead and therefore not as epic but still worth going) SPRINGFEST: two hot dogs, blue raspberry snowcone, nachos with cheese, two new pairs of earrings for $10, and one adorable mug. swear to god i have some sort of fascination with tableware. it's probably because i've been dying to get an apartment that i can decorate to my heart's content.

anywho. back to work.
